1. Who we are

Privacy Shield is developed and operated by Privacy Shield, a sole proprietorship based in India ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what data the Privacy Shield Chrome extension and this website collect, and what we do with it.

2. What stays on your device and is never sent to us

The extension processes the following entirely locally, inside your browser:

• The text you paste, checked against built-in and any custom detection rules you've configured
• Your extension settings — which categories are enabled, your paste-behavior mode, your custom rules
• Local, aggregate-only statistics (e.g. "3 API keys blocked today") — never the matched values, never a timestamp tied to a specific paste, never the page URL

All of this is stored only in your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local). It never leaves your device. We have no server that receives, logs, or could even theoretically see what you paste.

3. What is sent off your device, and why

The only network requests the extension makes are to verify your license:

• Your license key, sent to our licensing/payment provider (Dodo Payments) to activate or periodically revalidate your license
• A short label identifying the browser profile (e.g. "Chrome on macOS"), used only to distinguish separate activations under your plan's profile limit

Nothing you paste, no browsing history, and no page content is ever part of these requests.

4. Payment processing

Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, who act as merchant of record for this transaction. Dodo collects your payment details, billing address, and email directly at checkout — we never see or store your card details. Your email is used by Dodo to deliver your license key and receipt, and may be used by us to provide purchase-related support if you contact us. 5. This website

This website does not use cookies, analytics, or advertising trackers. It exists to describe the product and link you to the checkout page operated by Dodo Payments.

6. What we don't do

• We don't collect or transmit anything you paste, ever
• We don't track your browsing history or the sites you visit
• We don't use analytics or advertising trackers
• We don't sell or share data with third parties — we don't collect any beyond what's described above

7. Data retention and deletion

Local settings and statistics stay on your device until you clear them yourself (Settings → "Clear all local data") or uninstall the extension. Your purchase record (email, license key) is retained by Dodo Payments and us for as long as needed to provide support, honor refund requests, and meet our own tax/accounting obligations. To request deletion of your purchase record, contact us using the details below.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of the limited personal data described above (your email and license key, held by us and by Dodo Payments as our payment processor). To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below; requests relating to payment data may also be directed to Dodo Payments directly.

9. Children's privacy

Privacy Shield is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected in a new version of this page; continued use of the extension after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
